Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning

This course is short term vocational training designed to prepare the student in the fundamentals of refrigeration and air conditioning. Students will learn to diagnose service, install and repair residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Students will learn safety, necessary tools, and the use of diagnostic instruments used in the field. Students will also prepare and test for an EPA 608 Universal Certification.  This program requires 324 hours and has a wage range per hour of $17.50 to $18.00.
 
 

Textbook, workbook, EPA Test Prep Manual, and EPA Test fee are included in the program's cost.  Tools and meters are not included but will be required for labs.

Enrollment Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old prior to the start of the class
  • Valid California Drivers License/ Identification Card
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED or be co-enrolled in an HSD program.
  • Must be physically fit to climb on ladders
