Electrician Trainee #4

Learn basic electrical theory and hands-on training to become employable as an electrical trainee or helper in the residential or commercial sector.  Motor Controls/Intro to PLC requires 234 hours and has a median wage of $19.71.
Next Module: July 15 to October 10, 2019.  AM only.  For returning students only.
Upon completing the electrical training program, a graduate will acquire the following skills:
  • Develop a thorough understanding of control logic, diagrams, and devices.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of photoelectric and proximity sensors.
  • Have a thorough understanding of electromagnetic and solid state devices.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Programmable logic controllers understanding functions, operations and characteristics of VFD, CPU, Memory types and size, storage, battery backup, peripheral devices, ladder diagrams, process control systems and programming methods for PLC.
  • Be able to discuss the functions, operation, and characteristics of an HMI (Human Machine Interface) unit demonstrating the ability to install and use an HMI unit in given situations.
  • Be fully able to troubleshoot various problems in a control circuit. Textbooks and tools required.
