Bassett Names Superintendent Finalist
The Bassett Unified School District Board announced Dr. Anthony Ortiz as the finalist for superintendent, pending contract approval on June 9, 2026.
Dr. Ortiz brings over 30 years of experience in public education and currently serves as Assistant Superintendent in Colton Joint Unified School District, with a strong focus on student-centered systems and leadership development.
If approved, he will begin the role on July 1, 2026, succeeding Interim Superintendent Dr. Julie Harrison after a transition period.
